A message to Shepard Parents and Students from Shepard Counselors:

Shepard Counselors recognize that this is a challenging time for our students and their families.  This is especially true for our Seniors and Juniors who are preparing to make decisions about life after high school.  Stress from uncertainty can be lessened by gathering information and asking questions. We encourage everyone to continue to use the resources, tools and information posted on our webpages to answer questions, concerns and assist with planning. Most counselors continue to be available by email from 9am -2:00pm Monday through Friday.  For any questions about classwork, your teacher would be the best person to contact. Emergencies should be dealt with by calling 911 or transporting to a hospital. Wishing everyone the best of health!

Parents: For resources on talking to your child/children about COVID-19, click on the Study/Coping Skills tab on the right.

Please make sure that you are checking your email for any correspondence from counselors and teachers!

College Representative Visits to Shepard
One of the best ways to learn about colleges is to meet with a representative from different colleges.  See the tab on the right of this page for procedures on how to meet with a college representative. Click the "Calendar" tab to see who is visiting our campus and dates of their visits.  September and October are busy with college visits so check the tab often for additions.

ISAC announcement due to school closings:

As additional event cancellations and school closures are announced, we would like to remind our partners about some of the ISAC services that can help bridge communication gaps and keep students moving forward during these critical weeks in the college planning process.  Most notably, the ISAC College Q&A statewide text messaging service.

The ISAC College Q&A service allows students to text any questions they may have about the financial aid process, their FAFSA, and the college planning process in general.  Replies are not automated, rather each question is answered on an individual basis by ISAC staff members.  In addition to replying to individual messages, we can also push out mass messages (statewide or based on region or grade level or other criteria) to alert students to important deadlines, upcoming events, or other critical information.

A student or parent can sign up by simply texting their first and last name to the phone number with the area code closest to where they live.

Also, when meeting at school isn’t feasible, our ISACorps members are always available to work with students via email or phone. ISACorps members can be located using the search by zip code tool on the ISAC Student Portal:  And of course, our website isac.orgprovides extensive information on ISAC program and services, including our need-based and other gift assistance financial aid programs.

As always, thank you for your support of ISAC, our programs, and the students we all serve.
